Make the most of the sea. Try Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP), kayaking, swimming, sailing, deep sea fishing or surfing. 

Wind, wind, wind! Use the wind to kite and windsurf until your heart is content. It is not important if it's your first or 100th time, there are plenty of excellent surf schools, or you can take your own gear to some of the more remote beaches. 

Take a run or horse ride along the beach. 

Try sand boarding in the desert. 

Scuba diving is fantastic around the island, with small reefs and shipwrecks to explore. 

Snorkelling around the calmer waters of Estoril beach, or for the more adventurous try the reef between Praia De Cruz and Praia Cabral. 

Deep sea fishing is very popular, and with a small group you can charter a boat for the day. 

Go walking across the rugged inland terrain and see some of the amazing geology in very isolated places. There are several walking routes - borrow an OS map from us, or we can hook you up with a local guide.
